Abstract

The reaction of acetyl molecules with a ketene thioacetal, have been developed a facile and efficient synthesis of 4- substitued derivatives of 2-oxo-4-phenoxy-6-phenyl-2H-pyran-3-carbonitrile from efficient method by using aromatic ketone refluxing with ethyl 2-isocyano-3,3-bis(methylthio) acrylate in presence of anhydrous K2CO3 in DMF.
