Abstract

A simple and efficient procedure for the synthesis of substituted 5-benzylidene- 2,4-thiazolidinedione derivatives through a condensation of 2,4- thiazolidineone and aromatic aldehydes in the presence ofmodified zeolite in aqueous alcoholmediumis described.Worldwide availability, non-toxicity, reusability of catalyst, high yield and simple work-up procedure are the advantages of presented work.
