An efficient conversion of aldoximes to nitriles by diethyl hydrogen phosphonate-tetra methyl guanidine

Abstract

Aldoximes are almost converted quantitatively for the first time into their nitriles by reaction with diethyl phosphate in the presence of tetra methyl guanidine (TMG) in toluene at 65-75ï‚°C. The reaction is chemo selective and applicable tomulti functionalized aldoximes.
