Abstract

The study of the antibacterial Activity of extracts from roots and leaves of Echiumpycnanthum vis-à-vis four bacterial strains (Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212) chosen for their high frequencies to contaminate food and their pathogenicity, shows that the antibacterial activity of the crude extract of the leaves is more important compared to other extracts. The strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosawas the most sensitive to all extracts.
