Barium (II) chloride: An efficient catalyst for the multicomponent synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-ones under solvent free conditions

Abstract

An efficientmulticomponent synthesis of 3,4-Dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H) ones catalysed by BaCl2 under solvent free condition is described herein. The mild reaction conditions, high yields and shorter reaction period illustrate the good synthetic utility of this method.
