Abstract

ZnCo alloys (0.4 to 1.2%Co)were electrodeposited usingpulsating or direct current in a chloride bath, and then chromated froma chromate conversion bath. The corrosion behavior of these coatings in aerated 0.6 N NaCl solution was investigated by Electrochemical ImpedanceSpectroscopy. The experimental findings showed that if the structure and properties of themetallic layer are considered the pulsating current processwasmore effective than the direct one, but nomajor difference in their corrosion behaviorwas observed.
