Abstract
Kashagan field is one of the largest oil fields discovered in the last 30 years. It is a large, isolated carbonate bank, one of the biggest buildups in an archipelago that characterized the Pre-Caspian Basin from the Devonian to the Carboniferous and that now hosts large hydrocarbon reserves. Three new wells were drilled in East Kashagan (KE-4, KE-6, KE-ÃÂÂÂ-01), another three are being drilled (KE-ÃÂÂÂ-02, KE-ÃÂÂÂ- 03, KE-5-01) and reservoir properties1.
