Abstract
Drug discovery and development initiates with identification of lead molecules targeted for a treating a particular disease. The identified lead compound which is termed a new chemical entity is subjected todrug development process. Drug development process involves different stages like 1) Pre-Clinical Testing 2) Phase I Clinical Trials 3) Phase II Clinical Trials 4) Phase III Clinical Trials 5) New Drug Application (NDA) / Biologics License Application (BLA) 6) Phase IV or post marketing surveillance.
