Abstract
“In vitro mutagenesis” is defined as the induction of mutation in cell cultures maintained in vitro by the use of chemical and physical mutagens and subsequent establishment of cell lines and regeneration of mutant plants. In the present paper, the effect of gamma rays was studied on morphogenesis, rooting efficiency, caulogenesis and multiple shoot production in Erythrina variegata L. Among the explants studied stem and petiole have responded well in induction of caulogenesis, rhyzogenesis andmultiple shoots in 3-5 kRgamma irradiation.
