Abstract
Gastric cancer is the fourth most common malignant disease and the second leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide [1]. In 2008, an estimated 989,000 new cases were reported according to the International Agency for Research on Cancer [1,2]. Unfortunately, due to the vague and unspecific symptoms of this malignancy, many patients do not present for evaluation in its early stages.
