Highly efficient Cs2CO3-catalyzed conjugate hydrocyanation of á, â-unsaturated diesters and enones with acetone cyanohydrin

Abstract

An efficient conjugate hydrocyanation of a wide range of á,â-unsaturated esters and enones with acetone cyanohydrin has been developed with excellent yields (85-99%) using Cs2CO3 as the catalyst. Mild reaction condition, low catalyst loading and short reaction time make this protocol much practical.
