Iron(III) triflate under ultrasound facilitates the synthesis of benzo[f]chromenes

Abstract

Iron(III) triflate with the aid of ultrasonic irradiation efficiently catalyzes the three-component condensation reaction of naphthols, aromatic aldehydes and acetophenone in acetonitrile at 40 oC to afford the corresponding 1,3- diaryl-3H-benzo[f]chromene derivatives in high yields.
