Abstract

Japanese Apparel Market for U.S. Producers This report investigated the Japanese apparel market for U.S. apparel producers. This investigation includes: (1) an overview of the Japanese apparel import market, (2) detailed U.S. apparel export patterns to the Japanese market, and (3) a comparison of U.S. apparel products to products from export competitors, namely China and Italy. This paper utilized secondary data to explain U.S. apparel export patterns with the Japanese market. This investigation provided a new glimpse of the current Japanese apparel market to foreign producers, which has been considered extremely attractive, but hard to succeed with many examples of failures.
