Microwave accelerated green synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones

Abstract

The effect of microwave irradiation(MWI) was investigated for Biginelli reaction of aromatic aldehyde, -ketoester, and (thio) urea without using organic solvent or catalyst under different microwave power level to the corresponding dihydropyrimidinones. These studies developed an improved microwave-assisted method for the synthesis of dihydropyrimi dinones in green condition with good yields.
