Abstract
Prop-2,3-en-1-one (Chalcones) (1a-h) were obtained by condensation of aromatic aldehydes with acetophenone in alkaline medium , which on microwave irradiation with semicarbazide hydrochloride give 1- carboxamido-3, 5- diaryl –2-Pyrazolines (2a-h). The structures of these compounds were established by elemental, chemical and spectral analysis (IR, NMR). The properties of these compounds are found to be similar to the compounds obtained by usual methods.
