Abstract
NiF2 is an efficient, inexpensive and readily available catalyst for the three component, one-pot condensation reaction of an aldehyde, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea/thiourea to afford the corresponding dihydropyrimidinones in high yield. The catalyst exhibited remarkable reusable activity.
