Abstract
Background: Salmonella osteomyelitis in children is rare, and has mostly been described in children with sickle cell disease. The long bones of the extremities are most commonly affected. Case Report: We present a unique case of Salmonella (non-typhoidal) osteomyelitis, affecting the tarsal bones of the foot of a previously healthy 4 year old child, likely contracted from a pet turtle.
