The Bristol Royal InŽ rmary Inquiry and The NHS Plan commit the NHS to provide services that are ‘patient-centred’. New patient and public involvement structures include patient forums and the Independent Complaints Advocacy Services (ICAS) under the auspices of the Commission for Patient  and Public Involvement in Health.
