Abstract

Extraction of the different pearl millet varieties (Powdered form) was carried out using aqueous ethanol (50%) at moderate temperature (40 ̊C for 60 minutes). The extract was concentrated using the same temperature for 24-48 hrs. Standard methods were used to analyze the presence of different phytochemicals. The preliminary tests for phytochemicals revealed the presence of Coumarins, Steroid, Flavonoids, Flavonon, Tannins and reducing sugars
