Abstract

Introduction: Post-traumatic hepatic artery pseudoaneurysm is uncommon. It must always be treated due to the high risk of complications, especially its rupture. Presentation of case: The aim of this study is to report a case of a patient suffering from blunt abdominal trauma that showed extensive liver laceration that underwent a surgical approach with hemostatic rabies. Discussion: In the postoperative period, the presence of a pseudoaneurysmal formation of the hepatic artery was evidenced. The arteriography was successfully performed by embolization with cyanoacrylate injection. Conclusion: The case reported demonstrated that a pseudoaneurysm of the hepatic artery must be treated as early as possible because of the high risk of rupture and the associated high morbidity.
