Abstract

Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, Substance Abuse, and Other Behavioral Health Indicators among Active Duty Military Men and Women Despite civilian studies showing that women exhibit higher rates of PTSD, but men have greater exposure to traumatic events, few studies have examined this apparent contradiction among active duty personnel. The current study examined gender differences in PTSD and the influence of a wide range of risk factors and comorbid conditions in the United States military.
