Role of Genetic Polymorphism of Cyp2d6 in Tramadol Related Nephrotoxicity

Marwa Abass

Abstract

One of the most important tramadol metabolizing enzymes is CYP2D6. The CYP2D6 polymorphism leads to good, poor or no enzyme activity. Genetic testing helps in identification of high risk addicts whom to develop nephrotoxicity as well as management of addicts. The objective of this study is to explore tramadol induced nephrotoxicity associated with CYP2D6 gene polymorphism.
