Abstract
A series of 1-(naphthalen-3-yl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones synthesized successfully under solvent free conditions in presence of base were character ized by their IR and PMR spectral data. Thereafter, effect of differently substituted 1-(naphthalen-3-yl)- 3-phenylprop-2-en-1-ones was observed on bovine serum albumin in solution. We have found that the synthesized 1-(naphthalen-3-yl)-3-phenylprop-2-en-1- ones interacted with bovine serum albumin irrespec tive of the nature and position of the substituent.
