Superposition model analysis for the zero-field splitting of Mn2+ in Nd2Mg3(NO3)12.24H2O

Abstract

The Newman superpositionmodel has been applied to second-order zerofield splitting parameter b2 0 forMn2+ inNd2Mg3(NO3)12.24H2O. It is shown that calculated value of b2 0 is in agreement with the experimental value if local lattice relaxations are taken into account.
