Abstract
A series of 1, 3-diaryl-2-propene-1-ones have been synthesized by using Claisen-Schmidt condensation method in alkaline solution. The structures of the products were confirmed by spectral analysis (IR, 1H NMR and Mass). All the newly synthesized compounds were screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activity.
