Synthesis and investigation of mass spectra of some nitrogen heterocycles and salycylaldazine derivatives

Abstract

Reaction of cynoacetic acid hydrazide (1) with thiophene-2- carboxaldehyde, phthalic anhydride, 5- bromosalicylaldehyde and 2-hydroxyacetophenone yielded the corresponding hydrazone derivative (2), phthalazin- 1,4-diones (5) and salicylaldazine derivatives (10a-b). Pyrazolo[5-,1-a] pyrimidinone (4) was prepared via the reaction of hydrazone (2) with malononitrile in the presence of triethyl amine. Bromination and hydrazonylsis of phthalazin-1,4-diones derivative (5) with bromine and hydrazine hydrate gave the corresponding 2-(bromo cyanomethyl ) carbonyl phthalazin-1,4- dione (6) and phthalazin-1,4-dione (8). The electron impact mass spectra of both of the above some series of compounds have also recorded and their fragmentation pattern are discussed.
