Synthesis and mass spectral study of thiourea and thiocarbamiate derivatives from phthalimidoacyl isothiocyanates.

Abstract

Phthalimidoacyl isothiocyanates (1a,b) reactedwith aromatic amines or alcohols to give thiourea derivatives (4a-g) or thiocarbamic acid ester derivatives (5a,b) respectively.The electron impact ionization mass spectra of the synthesized compounds were studied. The MS peaks obtained correspond verywellwith their fragmentation patterns.
