Abstract
In this report new Mannich bases (2a-2d) were prepared by treating 2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde, 2-aminopyridine, 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine with active hydrogen containing compound such as semicarbazide, thiourea, and acetophenone. The synthesized compounds were characterized by spectral methods (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR) and analytical methods like (elemental analysis, melting point and TLC) techniques. Further the synthesized compounds were screened for antimicrobial activities.
