Synthesis of quinoline derivatives by acid catalyzed microwave-assisted approach

Abstract

Acid catalyzed microwave-assisted synthesis of quinoline intermediates from anilines and diethyl-1,3-acetonedicarboxylate is described. The cyclocondensation reaction in a matter of minutes and provided excellent yields. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by analytical and spectral (IR, NMR, and Mass) data.
