Synthesis of some novel s-triazine based chalcones and their derivatives

Abstract

Some new condensed heterocycles, synthesized via condensation of 2,4- bis-(phenylamino)-6-(4'-acetylphenylamino)-s-triazine (5) with different aromatic aldehydes yield chalcones (6a-e). These on cyclisationwith guanidine nitrate in presence of alkali and 2-aminothiophenol in presence of few drops of glacial acetic acid gives the corresponding aminopyrimidines (7a-e) and 1,5-benzothiazepines (8a-e) respectively. The constitutions of newly synthesised compounds have been established on the basis of their elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectral data.
