Abstract

The aim of this study was examination and comparison of 2 and 8 week aerobic exercise effect on insulin and glucose plasma levels and insulin sensitivity in obese men. Therefore 25 men, age 35-50 years and BMI upper 27.5 kg/m2 are divided in 2 groups accidental. Controls group (I) consist 10 men & aerobic exercises group (II) consist 15 men. The aerobic exercises group (II) running with %50 to %60 percent of maximum heart rate & 3 times in the week for 8 weeks. we measurement the insulin and glucose plasma levels before the exercise, after 2 weeks of exercise and after 8 weeks of the exercise every morning after 12 hour fasting. For calculate the insulin sensitivity we used of the HOMA-IR formula [2]. According to the founding research after 2 and 8 weeks aerobic exercise the meaningful reduction is in insulin and glucose plasma levels but this reduction was more meaningful in 8 weeks of aerobic exercise (α=0.05). Insulin sensitivity improve after 2 and 8 weeks aerobic exercise but this effect was more meaningful after 8 week aerobic exercise (α=0.05). It’s suggest that the obese men to prevent of those diseases associated to obesity such as diabetes so they should do aerobic exercise always and continual.
