Abstract

Standard transfer entropies, S0 (i) t ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž of a series of homologous ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚Β¡-amino acids (i) like glycine (gly), dl-alanine (ala), dl-ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚Β¡-amino butyric acid (aba) and dl-nor-valine (nor-val) from water to aqueous mixture of protic ethylene glycol (EG) with 0, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100wt%EG compositions have been evaluated at 25ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°C. For this purpose the solubility of the amino acids measured using ÂΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€˜formol titrimetryÂΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€™ at 15ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°, 20ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°, 30ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°, and 35ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°C and that of 25ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š°C reported earlier. S0 (i) t ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž of the acids as well as their chemical effects, S0 (i) t ,ch ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž obtained after correcting for the cavity effects, S0 (i) t ,cav ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž and dipole-dipole interaction effect, S0 (i) t ,dïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β‚¬d ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž . The chemical contributions of transfer entropies, T S0 (i) t ,ch ïΓƒβ€šΓ‚ΒΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€ž of amino acids are guided by the superimposed effects of increased acidity affecting the RCOO- part, decreased basicity affecting the NH3 + part and decreased HbH affecting RïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š¢ group of Zwitterionic amino acids RïΓƒβ€šΓ‚β€š¢CH(NH3 +)COO-, and the complex structural interactions of EG-H2Omixtures.
